The great people and talented friends of ours in Bali, Indonesia. The town of Ubud, in the uplands of Bali, Indonesia, is known as a center for traditional crafts and dance. The surrounding Ubud district's rainforest and terraced rice paddles, dotted with Hindu temples and shrines, are among Bali's most famous landscapes. At the Ubud Monkey Forest nature reserve and temple complex, macaques play amid jungle vines and overgrown Hindu monuments. Just south are craft villages including Mas, known for wood cravings, Celuk, for jewelry, and Batubulan for stone cravings. My wife and I have had the pleasure of visiting our suppliers, artists and talented carvers. These wonderful people of Indonesia are some of the nicest people we have had the pleasure of meeting. Their attention to detail in all their handicrafts is second to none.
